Functional Medicine

“Functional Medicine is a personalized, systems-oriented model that empowers patients and practitioners to achieve the highest expression of health by working in collaboration to address the underlying causes of disease”. Functional medicine requires one main commitment from you, the patient, you want to be healthy.

If you had a chance to read the “Our Story” tab on our website you will see the dedication and commitment our practice has had from Day 1 in providing individualized care and comprehensive management of the whole person. As the years went on practicing traditional Primary Care, practice Founder and Nurse Practitioner, Erin Bagshaw saw an increasing need to find more answers to chronic diseases which affects almost 1 out of every 2 people in the U.S. Our providers were seeing more and more disease, particularly autoimmune disease and “gut” disorders, often times in patients seeking our care after seeing other providers and specialists.

We began incorporating Functional Medicine for our Primary Care patients. After seeing the improvements made in our patient’s health we are now offering consultations. The consult is for the patient who already has a Primary Care provider but is searching for this specialized type of care. It takes a considerable amount of time to review a very in-depth history, order and review specialized tests and create individualized treatment plans from a Functional Medicine viewpoint. Most patients should plan on an initial consult and at least one to two follow-up appointments to review any further symptoms and adjustments (if needed) in the treatment plan.

Please take your time when completing the forms/questionnaires in our Patient Portal, they are essential in our investigation and evaluation of the root cause of your health complaints.

*The Certification for Functional Medicine has only been in existences since 2013, currently our providers are in the Certification Pathway through the Institute of Functional Medicine.
